About

Hello, dear seeker!

Den - that's me :)My name is Denis. Welcome to my blog about yoga, ayurveda, healthy life and self development. Well, sounds pretty common but can’t help it. 🙂 I’m not a yoga guru or anything, just a sadhaka, or a yoga practitioner, and here I write on the subjects I find interesting, and sometimes share my own experience in yoga and related Vedic sciences.

I started learning yoga in 2000, through the medium of books mainly, but later, in 2003 I went to India; In 2004 I spent 5 months in Nepal, in a monastery at the foot of the Himalayas, where I studied yoga from various teachers who visited the place.

In 2009 I traveled across South India. I have lived in Chennai (Madras) for 4 years (2010-2014), studying yoga and Sanskrit there.

I’m also a vegetarian since 1996, so expect me sharing this stuff as well. 🙂

What does “Yoga Yukta” mean?

It is a Sanskrit word योगयुक्त, which means “absorbed in yoga” or “immersed in deep meditation“. This name spontaneously came to my mind, and I gave it to my personal website about yoga.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog or at least find it useful. You are welcome to leave comments and ask questions as well – I’ll be glad to help if I can.

Be happy!

Denis
